Assess your needs/usage and work from there. Sure, the basic dropbox free account is small compared to some others, but I use dropbox for my cloud synced workspace -- I only have 2.8GB of space there, but it is more than sufficient for my active projects (and then some) and gives the most seamless usage across my platforms/apps. I also have google-drive, bitcasa, copy, and opendrive free accounts for backup/archive purposes.
