My little guy used to spray kitchen counters and the cooking stove and all window sills and carpets and cloth upholstery. He was a real walking bladder! Oh, and I forget the cooking utensils pot next to the stove. The hours washing and the shame the odours brought, to the point of not having visits anymore.
He was the little guy on the right.

My cats pee and poop on the stove all the time. That's why I made the stove cover (the photo of it is in another thread).
I've gotten cats from as far away as 2,500 miles ... they've been flown in to me, driven in to me. Whatever it takes.
My dear old Lyndon (who had diabetes and a brain tumor) peed constantly. He was a giant (a result of the tumor), so when he peed ... it was a LOT of pee. I'd just mop up after him. It's what I do.
I realize that most people don't feel the way I do about cats and dogs. That's why I try not to come down on people like a ton of bricks when they feel like they don't have any choice in what to do .... but, for me ... personally, to have a cat for five years who started marking, would be like having a five year old child who started wetting the bed. In neither case would I feel like the death penalty was warranted.
However .... I realize that I am in a serious minority in how I feel about cats and dogs. But, that's how I've gotten several of my "children" ... from families who couldn't deal with an illness or a behavior problem or a handicap.
That's why I'm so pissed off at the stupid City of Horseshoe Bay. It just chaps my hide no end to have them telling me that I "can't" take in anymore animals. That I "have to" bring the number of animals down to three. What complete morons those people are ... oh, great ... now I'm getting angry again. (Stupid assholes who run HSB ....
