Do you have the correct version (64 or 32 bit) for you OS and CPU.

First Uninstall
Then Delete the Calibre2 folder in Program files (X86) (the fact that there is a C2 folder left over is an indication of corruption)

Get a fresh download.
Try again

W7 x64 update worked fine
