I leave BT set to On for my iPhone 5 because I often use a BT headset when inside and my Toyota Prius C will automatically connect with my iPhone via BT when I get into it. I tried leaving BT off and then turning it on only when I needed it, but it is too easy for me to forget to turn it on. So now I leave it on all the time, but only turn on the BT headset if I make/answer a call. I really don't have battery drain issues, but that might be because I micro-manage everything related to battery drain to limit which apps have access to cellular, etc.

Limit ad tracking via Settings --> Privacy --> Advertising --> Limit Ad Tracking (set to On).
Turn off Siri if you don't use it much. Siri is a huge battery drain.
