Since the point is to make employees think about if they want to be there, the test can run a third way as well. A good employee who may have been considering taking that UPS job he was offered for $2 more an hour, or with the shorter commute or whatever, might see this offer and decide he appreciates working for a company that would do something like this, and stay. So it can act as a retention tool as well.
