Yes I savvy, you want access to a service for which other people pay within the price of a book they buy from Amazon.
This has nothing to do with copyright or piracy - its to do with access to a commercial service - posting quotes from an ebook on a Kindle to a facebook account. Amazon will do it for ebooks they sold to you, but not for books that were obtained from some other entity. GM will provide a warranty on the cars they make & sell, but they wont provide warranty on cars that Ford make & sell - savvy.
I suspect there are extant ebook reader applications that run on platforms that are more open than Kindle, such as Android and IOS, that factor the cost of sending quotes to social media within the price of the software - its the sort of thing that often differentiates Lite (freeware) and Pro (payware) variants.
