Question 4: Correct play. A lot commonly believe that it's Hamlet but this is incorrect.

Steinbeck most certainly did use a pencil. He preferred writing his novels with a pencil over a typewrite or a pen.
The play is "Hamlet", but the speaker of the quote is not.
"Richard III" is classified as a historical play, not a tragedy. But "The Merchant of Venice" is indeed a comedy.
Gutenberg Bible is incorrect.
