I must be a dog AND cat person. I started as a cat person ... married into two shih tzus, who love to slather me with attention. Since the cats were more stand-offish, the dogs won. Now I've removed the husband but kept the two dogs (the cats went elsewhere a few years back).
However, having to come home to walk/feed them inhibits any evening activities, so I may get cats again, when these two age.
