If you want lighthearted and humorous you might try the 5 Miss Seeton novels by Heron Carvic (only those by Heron Carvic not the Hamilton Crane ones written after Carvic's death). They are not detective novels but cozy mysteries and not yet available as ebooks but they are truely hilarious. His style of humor is unique and his characters are loveable.
