You are correct, I buy so few open epubs. The few I bought are from Rocky Nook and they fall under the same class as kepub, they lack the Blackberry notation. I remember 'chatting' with Kobo support asking them what format the books were and they were zipped open epubs. I never bought and open epub that had a blank Read this On section. Remember, if in doubt ask Kobo Support. I use the chat feature and it is usually pretty fast. I will update my previous post.
