G.A. McKevett - An overweight fired lady cop turned P.I.
Joanne Fluke - A pastry shop owner who solves mysteries that she stumbles across.
Both are more in the "cozy mystery" category than Patterson or Grafton, though I do like those as well, but they are much more graphic/intense.
