Any epub to epub conversion will use any existing original_epub file as the source file when doing a conversion. If this original_epub file existed and you were doing all of your edits to the epub file a subsequent epub to epub conversion would use the original_epub as the source and overwrite your epub with its conversion.

I have made this error on more than one occasion.
