Typed too quickly. The problem DID persist. But I don't think it's a Calibre bug. I have a multi-monitor setup and I run UltraMon to handle those monitors. I like to have Calibre show up on the second monitor of the group, running full-screen. When I re-installed Calibre, of course I ran it from the installation dialog. Everything worked. So, I closed it down and went back to mundane work. I just re-opened Calibre to check something, using the shortcut from the UltraMon second monitor taskbar, just as I have done for the last few years. The problem was back. Hmmmmm. I then tried the desktop icon (which I normally delete by rote, but which I had left around this time) and everything worked okay, although I had to move the window to the second monitor. Problem solved.
So, two things occur. First, I'd like Calibre to remember window state and position between runs. THAT would be good. And that 1.32 has an issue with UltraMon's shortcut system. Since that's a pretty rare combo, I'm not going to register a bug since I'm not sure Calibre's at fault here and we'd alll rather Kovid spend his time on universally productive issues. BUT something changed between 1.31 and 1.32. I re-installed the earlier version and it did not exhibit this odd behaviour. Back to 1.32 now.
Most peculiar.
