I have recently been reading some epubs via the Kobo app on a 9.8 inch kindle fire.
that app gives per-chapter page numbers even with the vanilla epub format - it also offers a "use kobo styling" toggle -it seems strange that you van have those features in a basic kobo android app but not on a dedicated kobo e-reader.
I quite like the large screen and that tablet is if anything a tad lighter than my auda HD .
the android app has that annoying turn page for start of large paragraph bug though, same as the aura.
I've not tried converting epub to kepub & sendiing that format to tablet, but I am guessing it would also work Ok. For me the per-chapter page numbers makes for a better tablet reading experience than converting to azw & reading with the kindle app.
