Kindle Keyboard for note taking

I've seen a very cheap Kindle Keyboard and I was wondering if it's possible to type and take notes on the KK.

Before anyone says an e-reader is not suitable for taking notes and typing on, I already do it a lot on a rooted Nook. The rooted Nook can use Android note-taking apps. The KK can't run android apps, so I'm wondering about it's software functionality to take notes / write on. I doubt I'd register it. I'd hack it mercilessly.

Part of the appeal is that the hardware keyboard might be better to thumb-type on than the screen. For one thing, it would leave more screen free.
