Was it hard drive failure?
You can install ADE on another PC and log into your Adobe account. One good thing about ADE is the it's account specific not PC specific like Kindle 4 PC. Any Library books though will need to be redownloaded but your purchase books can be simple dragged into ADE with internet on and it should pull the license.
