If nothing was displayed in the list, that means you don't have any collections that match the series names for books on the device.

For example, if you have the Harry Potter books, they should have "Harry Potter" displayed as the series name in the library lists. The series number should also be displayed. Then you should also a collection called "Harry Potter". And this collection should contain all the books with series name "Harry Potter".

When you run the "Order series shelves", it should have an entry for "Harry Potter" with the number of books. When you press OK, the database will be updated.

Then disconnect the device and go to the "Harry Potter" collection. For the sort order, select "Date Added". The books should be in series order.
