If the firmware version you want to run is provided by Amazon, just follow their instructions for its installation.

But I think you are still being mis-lead by the Mobileread usage of the term "Jailbreak" - -
Ours does not alter the firmware image - it only adds another certificate for package signing to the existing two already present in the certificates directory (an additional data file, not an image change).
If you can delete a file, you can remove it.
