Indeed, but the problem is that most people (including me) are not going to invest much time in telling publishers how to save their business.

The couple of times I tried to Send a message to a publishing company, just finding the correct e-mail address was a pain. In the end, I just said "to hell with" and ignored it.

If there was a central place from where I could find who publishes which book, along with contact detail, I'll probably send a lot more messages.

Hmm.... That's an Idea.

How about a Wiki page with working contact details for publishers? Might be good idea to link to a list of authors published by them as well, so you can verify you're sending it to the right place.
