Donna Leon's Brunetti series (set on Venice)

The Killing, books 1, 2 and 3 - based on the Danish tv series - and written by David Hewson. The tv series was sooo goood!! (So as the Danes asked Hewson to write the books I'm going to assume that they're very faithful to the tv script)
