Well, the book gods have a way of saying Hah! to all my resolutions, but I think I'm safe enough from the current contest, with the possible and justifiable exception of buying the lit club pick this month if necessary.

Good for you, Paul! I find these are the most pernicious stumbling blocks. It's one thing to use a coupon to purchase a book you already wanted, but another thing entirely when the sale price alone creates the want. My worst regrets are purchases of this ilk. Indeed, my Amazon account is testament to more of them than I'd care to acknowledge--books I haven't even bothered to download and put into Calibre, because the likelihood of my getting to them anytime soon is so slim (and I doubt Amazon's going anyplace).
