My guess is a little different: wanting to know what the OP's actual problem is, in order to help solve it. It's not uncommon that the question a user presents with is not the actual question that needs answering in order to meet their needs.
There was a major disconnect in the OP. "I want to read the book on my mobile device in a reflowable format" is met by using the existing epub, not creating a pdf. So rather than play around with guessing games, one asks.
