Using Calibre to hande comics, mangas...

Hi Lynxai,

I see we face the same challenge !
But you are ahead of me on one thing : Comicrack !

Unfortunately, it only exists on Windows and I own a Mac.

OK first let me describe my configuration :
laptop Mac Book Pro
I handle my Calibre library of ebooks on it.

the database and the files are stored on the NAS (/volume1/calibre/)

NAS DS 411j
the NAS handles all the files that I want to share to the devices for the family and friends.
It runs COPS.
It (tries since yesterday) runs MyReadings

tablet Android Asus TF 101
I read my comics on it using perfectviewer, the files are on a public folder shared with SMB.

ereader kobo touch
I read my ebooks on it. I use COPS to download them locally.

I want to use Calibre to handle graphic objects (comics, mangas, "bandes dessinees" as we say in French) but there are some limitations I have already identified.

Some files I have are only folders. I need to zip them to have them accepted on Calibre.
There is no way to add metadata to the file itself. (ZIP, CBZ, CBR)...
When I import, Calibre tries his best but most of the time I get name of the book and name of the author inversed...

A long way to go to get to an easy comics world ?
