Bottom line: Safari is a bad browser. Don`t use it. It`s only slightly better than IE 8 in terms of compatibility with modern web standards and it`s not even the browser`s fault; it`s Apple`s poor integration and attempts to babysit you through web navigation.
Glad to see it's not something I am doing wrong....thanks for that.

Like others I don't browse the web on my iPad Mini much, I use my pc for that.
I bought my iPad more for the apps.
