The thread you posted to was 5 years old. There have been over a 250 versions of calibre and 5 major releases of calibre since that thread was created and the content of that thread is no longer applicable.
There was an Old Thread Warning (like the one included in this post) below your reply window that either you did not notice or that you chose to ignore. As a general rule
necroposting should be avoided. When in doubt start a new thread.
