I don't think it was necessarily cheating. I'm sure a lot of the folks who were supporting other GLBT titles probably put their support behind
Captive Prince. And the author seems to be active on social media. As I said
HOO started out slow and did manage to almost catch up, but it remained 70 to 100+ votes behind the last few hours. But I think
Captive Prince does have a very vocal fan base which is also international. And there was only a 75 votes difference which is not a large margin.
The contest is supposed to be fun. I hope it remains so.
ETA: And Nalini has promised a Kaleb/you-know-who short story (leaving off heroine's name as I know there are folks who haven't read that far in the series yet).
