Desktop ADE does seem to add a 40px left margin to lists. This is about 5 characters wide with the smallest font and zero characters wide with the largest font. Adding a 0 left margin to the style sheet works for unordered lists with no bullets, but moves the numbering of ordered lists off the page. The smallest margin that keeps the numbering of ordered lists is 36px, but then the list has a wide left margin in other viewers.

When I posted last night I was tired and got confused with trying to get rid of this default margin in part because of multiple list styles in my CSS. I was seeing a shift double the default margin width because I'd added padding in the CSS and then couldn't find it again to remove it. My apologies if I've caused any confusion.

I note, reading other threads, that ADE on other devices may behave differently with regard to the default margin given to lists.
