I really like this series, but warning to romance readers, it's not a romance...not exactly.

For example, the main character is in love with one woman when the series begins, but that relationship doesn't work out. (I'm avoiding further spoilers by saying more - but I know some romance readers who would find that problematic, if they though this was a standard romance series).
