@DoctorOhh - The first post showed ADE v Ebook Viewer, second one showed Ebook Viewer before and after - I think the OP was shoring up his/her position.
I just checked a 'book' with chapter and scene break baubles. The original was converted from PDF to PRC using Mobipocket, I then I used calibre to convert the PRC to EPUB and RTF. The baubles were retained in the PRC, the EPUB and RTF.
I'm thinking that there maybe something not quite right with the OPs original EPUB. Maybe the OP could run it past some of the checks in the Quality Check PI or that epub checker Kovid doesn't like - but I don't know much about that stuff, so I can't say more than that.
