Are you using the new checkout? It's the dynamic interface.
What is the exact error message you get?
Can you pay by PayPal? It's more work but it's worth it. You just click the "Edit Info" button at the top, and you have whatever options you normally have. If you are already paying with PayPal you can only run one transaction at once. Wait until one goes through and do the next. As long as the discount has already been applied, you can take your time, you just won't be able to use it on any books you don't already have open and have applied the discount to.
Does your credit card company put holds on your card for suspicious purchases? Something under a couple of dollars might flag them. I can only buy about a dozen things from one vendor before the card is frozen and I have to switch to PayPal. (I call them and they can fix it but it takes a while for Kobo to figure it out.) Even if you are using a credit card try doing just one at a time.
What versions of the browsers are you using?
What country are you buying from?
Here are the steps I follow:
Search for the book.
Right click on the book and open in a new window.
Repeat until I have all the books I want to buy open.
Then I do each step for each page before I move to the next step:
Check each book page and make sure that it shows the platforms you can use it on (if it doesn't have that I don't buy it because then it's a PDF usually) then click on Buy Now.
Enter the code and click Apply.
Then I go through and click Buy Now for two and then wait until those go to the thank you page before I go to the next two tabs.
If that's what you're doing, do you get the error when you click "Buy Now" or does it look like it's processing and then give you the error?
The more information you give me the more I can try to help you troubleshoot.
