You might check your public library. Mine (Ottawa Public Library) now offers members online access to several full-version dailys, which I find that I can comfortably read on an 8 inch tablet. I can't download the newspapers. Reading is done via html, and is restricted to some maximum number of simultaneous readers, so I occassionally have to wait for access. That doesn't happen very often.
