And about selling rights to the wrong person, I believe this happened to Kelley Armstrong with Bitten. They are basically re-writing the series - she has no say, and she blogged about it. There are a number of series that I hope never make it to screen, because I don't think they could be done justice. |
See I don't have a problem with that. It doesn't have to be cannon to a book. I like to see other people's interpretations. I mean look at Haven that is based on the Colorado Kid by Stephen King it's nothing like the novella but it's one of the best TV shows I have seen. Remember Smallville? It was based off the superman but it was no where cannon. It's still one of the most amazing shows I have seen.
I never expect a movie to be true to a book but I do enjoy them. I liked One For Money movie even if Ranger and Morelli are wrong and Stephanie was made to look competent.
I think it's neat to see what Hollywood can come up with. We know right now they need all the fresh ideas they can find. Just think of it as Fan Fiction that is what I do.
