The first Dr. Who I remember watching was Patrick Troughton. I think they show went a little off the rails towards the end of Tom Baker’s time and stayed in stupidland up until Sylvester McCoy.
I have to say a lot of the reboot has been plain awful, and though I thoroughly enjoyed Blink, the show hasn’t picked up since Steven Moffat took over. Can Capaldi save the day? I still hope so but it doesn’t look promising.
