That would only make sense if they didn't have a fairly decent subscriber base who seem perfectly WILLING to pay (ads and all), no? Why offer for free what people will pay for?

Why is it so hard for people to see that Hulu already seems to have a business model that's working for them AND their subscribers? There's no need to "fix" anything. It's viable as is--whether or not YOU (rhetorical) happen see the value.
