You are chasing 2 different problems. Start a new thread when the topic changes.
EXISTING Author sort values need to be recomputed for the new rule to be in effect.
(Under the Tag Browser)Alter Tag Browser:Manage Authors... :Manage Authors: click the recalculate button
Note: this is also the place to 'touch up' the names that don't quite fit the rules
