I would use it even though I don't use a 2nd monitor with calibre. I don't like programs that assume I want to restore the shambles in which I last left it. I know many do, but I'm not one of that many, I'm one of the other many

One of the reasons I like the View PI, it its option to restore a designated view - so the ad-hoc sort I did just before I closed calibre yesterday is where IMO it belongs - in the dustbin of History.

I use Forte Agent news-reader. That is the way it works. You can (optionally) set the layout once and lock it (but I don't think it applies to popup dialogs)
