- Hmmm...I just used my regular email account--there was no "avoiding" anything...I just typed in my email address and made up a password.
- I've downloaded a few apps, and just downloaded another one and didn't have to type in my email address. In fact, the only time I EVER have to type in my email address is when I'm logging in to the computer. In all fairness, this may be because I've only installed a couple of free card games and the free ESPN app. I just don't use many "apps" with Windows...just applications such as the full MS Office, Firefox, Adobe Acrobat (full version, not reader), and other applications that I need for my business.
- I don't know what the "Windows 8 app dashboard" is, unless you mean the store? If so, then yes...there are advertisements in the store, but then again, it's a STORE, so I would expect to see some sort of advertising there.
