Good point.

Of course, this does mean the main calibre program (not just the server, possibly being run headless?) must be running. And you will need to do a remote login anyway, unless maybe you setup a webscript to upload files to that folder? In which case I suppose you can also setup a webpage that can run "calibredb add" on the uploaded book.
