Thanks to all you folks! I've also got a new PW2 and thought the battery might be running down faster than it should, but was going to wait and see for a few days. After reading this thread, I did the search described above, and sure enough, there was a book still trying to index. Lucky for me, it wasn't one that I sideloaded. I had the Kindle remove it from the device, then re-downloaded, and presto - no more indexing. (If anyone is curious, it was the Delphi Complete Works of Dickens - enough to choke any reader
)
Anyway, with luck, condition corrected. Another problem solved by the good folks on this board.
