I think it's a good thing that computers have reached a level of maturity where people can simply switch them on and use them without having to understand how they work. When I was a kid in the 60s you couldn't really own a car without having some knowledge of how to fix it when it broke down, as it inevitably would. Car owners today rarely have to worry about breaking down.
