Open the KePub file and look for a file called "kobo.js". A KePub is just a ZIP file with a fancy extension, so make sure you're showing file extensions (which you should be doing anyway!) and add '.zip' to the very end of the name. Windows at least will warn you about changing extensions, it's fine; when you're done the file will open as a ZIP. Just remove the '.zip' extension before you unplug the reader.
