I would like to mention that with the Kobo Start Menu it is not absolutely necessary to "install" these two packages.

KoboLauncher: It is sufficent to copy the vlasovsoft folder (decompress KoboRoot.tgz, and find the vlavasoft folder in \mnt\onboard\.kobo) to the .kobo folder of your device. You must however do a proper install, if you want to be able to start the KoboLauncher by opening an image in nickel. You must also do a proper install if you plan to use the USBNet on Touch.

KOReader: It is sufficent to copy the koreader folder to the .kobo folder of your device. You must however do a proper install, if you want to start the KOReader by opening an image in nickel.
