I'm looking for a front-lit ereader, that reads epubs, has a SD slot, is available in the US and lets you browse your book files instead of forcing you into whatever crappy and slow library system they install on the reader.

My current Nook ST with Glowlight really suits my needs, but as B&N has discontinued it I'm in a bit of a tizzy about what to do if anything happens to it.

I gave reading on the iPad mini a try, and while I love the snappy library system, the battery life and weight of the device really are sticking points for me.

I swore I'd never buy another Kobo after my horrific experience with the Vox and their abysmal customer service, but since I was able to get one from Best Buy I gave the Aura a try. SD card and front light were nice, but the library catalog is almost unusable with a couple thousand books. I installed the hack that theoretically let me browse my books in folders and use Cool Reader, but opening Cool Reader just made the whole device crash repeatedly. It also only opened in landscape mode.

I was thinking of trying a Pocketbook Touch Lux 2, but that's a lot of money to put out for a device I can't try first or return. I did love my Pocketbook 360, which by far had the best file system and flexibility of any e-reader I've tried. However, after using a front-lit device I just can't go back, and as I'm getting older a 5" screen really doesn't cut it any more.
