I'm not sure if any of you are talking about the recommendations that Kobo sends on your device?

Because you can turn those off on the device itself - I do.

As to the Kobo Desktop Manager I never look at what they have - I only use it sync my ereader.

As to kobobooks.com website it's easy enough not to look at those.

Maybe I'm not understanding the issue ...
