Sorry folks: this was obviously a bit too much on the hard side. So I'll give you the inventions I have left, and you can take a punt on who invented them, using the dates.

Internal combustion engine
Adjustable spanner
Superglue
Parachute
Toothbrush
Lawnmower
Flatbed scanner
Motorboat
Saxhorn

They are of course mixed up, including where there are two inventions down to one person.

At this point, orlok is in the lead well and truly with 7 points.
pdurrant has 3 points.
Stitchawl and Bilbo each have 1 point.

My apologies - I have Kumabjorn a point which I shouldn't have done, as the Mouse had already got OCR. I'll do a rerun of the questions with the answers so far.
