Kobo seems to have a very interesting marketing strategy, and I do hope that other companies copy it.

They issue a great discount code that sets off a huge word of mouth (and PM, email, sms, twitter, facebook etc) chat and sell how many thousands (?) of ebooks.

The effect of this of course is that not only does Kobo generate massive sales, but they also generate customers who keep checking out Kobo's offerings, and who continue to tell their friends. So a new customer base is another benefit to this marketing strategy.

Seems win win all around to me .....
