The DX should already accept MOBI and not AZW3. I'm believe the default for the "Kindle > 1 (not including DX)" driver is AZW3=disabled. Just enable it and move it to the top of the list! Then the AZW3 will take priority over MOBI, for that device driver.

And of course the Reading List plugin so the books will be auto-synced to the device.
