I think most of the posters in this thread are missing the fact that B&N's website is built for the "common" reader. New to ebooks, new to ereaders perhaps as well. You folks are the Professional Readers. So of course the site doesn't meet your needs.
Perhaps the Professional Readers should get someone to develop a Professional Reader's site. Maybe a sub-site of B&N.
