Yes the sync is between the cloud (Kobo) and the desktop. It has sync'd 163 books. It shows 14 books left to sync, but crashes as soon as it starts now. I can stop it, but it does nothing to help it.

Strange, as I tried it with Windows 8 and had the exact same problem. When researching the problem, I ran across threads about Kobo not supporting Windows 8 and thought that was my problem.

As I said has been a while since we used the eReader. Not even sure how to get the books onto the reader. Plug it in and see what happens?
