Desktop ver 3.6.0 Crash While Syncing

Sorry if there is a thread already on this, but I couldn't locate one.

I'm trying to our old eReader going again. I was prompted to upgrade the Kobo desktopp software and did so. Version now shows 3.6.0. I sign into the account and the software starts to sync the books. It shows there are 177 books to sync. When it gets to about 155 to 160, the software crashes.

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the software but it did not work. Using Windows XP. Also tried this on Windows 8 with the same results.

The reader is the original Kobo eReader model N614. The reader is not attached to computer when the crash happens.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
